Srinagar, Dec 05 Several leaders including the former chief minister of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state, Omar Abdullah offered Fateha to the National Conference (NC) founder, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. However, unlike the past, the attendance of workers was quite low.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the mausoleum of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah in Nigeen area of Srinagar was usually witnessing a huge rush of people, especially workers from different parts of the valley on the occasion of the deceased leader’s anniversary.
However, no such flow was witnessed today as a miniscule number of people participated in the Fateha Khawani today at the mausoleum. The majority of workers seemingly gave a big miss to the event.
Besides, only a few leaders turned up at the mausoleum, which include Omar Abdullah, NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Party’s Provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather, Shameema Firdous, Farooq Ahmad Lone, Shafqat Ahmad Watali, Salman Sagar among others.
Nonetheless, NC Chief Spokesperson, Tanvir Sadiq when contacted said that no formal event was organized for today as the people from only nearby constituencies participated in the Fateha Khawani.
“There was no event today and no one was invited. The people from nearby constituencies have visited on their own,” he said, adding that since the conventions are being organized at different places at present, the party didn’t organized any formal event for today at the mausleum—(KNO)
