Bandipora, October 31: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Bandipora on Tuesday organised an awareness cum sensitization programme regarding Beti Bachav Beti Padav (BBBP) at CDPO office Bandipora.
The programme organised on the directions of District Social Welfare Officer Mir, Hidaytullah was attended by supervisors, Anganwadi workers, mothers of baby girls and the DHEW team.
On the occasion the Gender Specialist DHEW Bandipora Sumaya Muzafar highlighted the objectives of BBBP and various welfare schemes that are in vogue for the education, skill development and income generation of the female child.
Specialist in Financial Literacy, Najma highlighted benefits, eligibility and documentation of Sukanaya Samridhi.
The speakers also laid Special emphasis on PC PNDT Act, MTP Act and other women related legislations and raised awareness on women specific centres where women can approach to avail different services.
The speakers also sensitised the female folk about the women rights and the women centric schemes meant for the protection and empowerment of women.
On the occasion DHEW also distributed baby kits among newly born female babies of the block and felicitated their mothers to celebrate the birth of agirl child.
