Srinagar, June 28 – On the eve of Eid al-Adha, customers of Jammu and Kashmir Bank were left in distress as the bank's mobile banking application, Mpay, experienced a technical glitch yet again.
This incident has sparked frustration among users, leading netizens to suggest exploring alternative banking apps. Despite other major banks such as SBI and PNB having a significantly larger customer base, instances of similar collapses during festive seasons like Diwali have not been reported
Ahsan Bhat, a disgruntled customer, expressed his disappointment, stating, "It's disheartening to see the JK Bank's app fail repeatedly, especially on festive occasions when people are relying on it for quick and convenient transactions. This has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience to customers like me."
Syed Shakir, another user affected by the glitch, shared his frustration, saying, "It's high time JK Bank takes the necessary measures to rectify these recurring technical issues. With the advancement in technology, such glitches should be resolved swiftly to ensure a smooth banking experience for customers."
The collapse of JK Bank's e-banking application has prompted several netizens to recommend exploring alternative banking apps that have a more stable track record during peak usage periods.
JK Bank, known for its extensive customer base and presence in Jammu and Kashmir, now faces the challenge of addressing the recurring technical issues and regaining the trust of its customers.
Nazir, a dissatisfied J&K Bank customer and a shopkeeper expressed his skepticism regarding the bank's claims of successful transactions during the Eid period. He stated, "It's hard to believe the bank's PR stunts when the reality on the ground is entirely different. I personally faced multiple issues with the app, and I know many others who had similar experiences. It's disappointing that the bank is making such claims without addressing the genuine concerns of its customers."
This incident has further fueled the disappointment among users, who are now questioning the credibility of the bank's recent PR claim that 52 lakh transactions worth Rs. 3,000 crore were successfully processed in just three days. On the ground level, every single customer seems to be dissatisfied with the services provided by JK Bank.
