Bandipora, April 29: The Fisheries Department on Saturday organised an awareness camp among carp fish farmers at Ashtingoo village of Bandipora district.
Officials said the camp was aimed at educating the farmers about the latest farming techniques and technologies that can help them enhance their productivity and profitability.
The camp was attended by a large number of fish farmers from the surrounding areas.
The Fisheries Department officials delivered informative sessions on various aspects of carp fish farming, including fish breeding, feeding, disease management, and water quality management.
The farmers were also given practical demonstrations on how to construct low-cost fish ponds and how to use fish feed supplements to increase fish growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant director of the Fisheries Department Showkat Ahmad bhat said that the camp was part of the department's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable aquaculture practices and to support the livelihoods of fish farmers in the region.
He emphasized the need for farmers to adopt modern technologies and best practices to improve their fish production and income.
The farmers who attended the camp appreciated the efforts of the Fisheries Department and said that they had learned a lot from the informative sessions and demonstrations.
They also requested the department to organize such camps on a regular basis to help them stay updated with the latest developments in fish farming.
