Bandipora, April 27: The department of Education in Bandipora on Thursday organised a seminar and debate competition over India attaining presidency of G-20.
An official said the seminar was held as per the activity calendar issued by Director School Education Kashmir regarding G20 summit.
He said under the banner of Y20 and India's presidency in G20 and position at global platform, various activities were conducted viz Debate/seminar today in the school auditorium of Government Girls Model Higher Secondary Bandipora.
Officials said 4 schools of the cluster GHSS Bandipora participated in the competition which include High School Buthoo, High School Bagh, AGS Bandipora and GHSS Bpr.
Senior lecturer HS Nadihal Shakeel Ahamad Baba and Senior Lecturer NM Boys HSS kaloosa Peer Muzaffar acted as jury members in the competition.
In the debate, the first position was bagged by GHSS Bandipora where as Second and third positions were registered by AGS Bandipora and GHS Buthoo.
The program was presided over by the Principal of the school Mohammad Rafiq Parrey.
On the occasion the students discussed the theme of Y20 in length and breadth and threw light on the importance of youth in G20 in the context of climatic change which is the main theme of the Y20 competition.
In addition, an awareness program was also held in the school regarding drug menace in which Ishtiyaq Ahmad Samoon Sr.lect (Chemistry) gave a detailed insight on the subject.
Mohammad Rafiq Lone (Sr.Lect ) and coordinator of the program thanked all the students for their active participation in the ongoing competition. He also thanked Javeed Ahmad Mir (SNO) for providing all technical support to the program.
In the end, Principal of the school presents vote of thanks to the participants and the staff for making the program successful.
