Usman Majid urges Govt to ensure smooth travel of Gujjar-Bakerwal community during seasonal migration


Bandipora, October 23: Ahead of the seasonal migration of Gujjar Bakerwal community along with their livestock, Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Vice President Usman Majid urged LG adminstration to ensure smooth migration of the community members along with their livestock.

Majid said that the hard journey to greener pastures on foot to the plains of Jammu and other areas used to consume lot of precious time for nomads leading to financial loss and physical strain. "The hardships of these nomads particularly the nomads from Bandipora & Ganderbal districts further aggravated over due to dwindling number of primary source of transportation".

Majid said that the delay could have a serious impact on the wellbeing of the animals as the temperature in valley started falling. He expressed serious concern over the difficulties confronting the nomadic tribes particularly from the twin districts Bandipora and Ganderbal of Kashmir division along with their families and livestock & urged the Divisional administration to provide transportation and to ensure hassle-free movement of nomadic tribes towards Jammu and other places.
