BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 22: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Thursday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss modalities of Plastic Waste Management in the District and status of implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin.
The meeting discussed various measures for effective implementation of SBM-G and waste management in rural areas.
Dr. Owais said that Door to Door collection of waste shall start from 2nd October in rural areas also and directed ACP to take all measures required for collection and segregation of waste by activating men and machinery in advance.
The DC urged the public to cooperate with executing agencies for proper implementation of waste management and plastic waste management in the district.
Dr. Owais asked the BDOs to submit the panchayat level and block level plans of waste collection and segregation and also asked ACP to make a holistic district plan for waste management.
He directed the concerned officers to actively involve PRIs to frame plans as per requirement on panchayat basis.
The meeting was attended by DPO ICDS Mohd Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, ACD Bandipora Ab Rashid Das, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, ACP Bandipora Syed Altaf Hussain Mosavi, BDO Arin and other concerned officers.
