Online refresher course concludes at KU

Srinagar, Aug 3: A two-week refresher course for faculty members from the disciplines of Commerce, Management and Economics concluded at the University of Kashmir. The online course, organised by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), was inaugurated Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan. Forty teachers from different universities and colleges across the country participated in the course. Prof Alok Kumar Chakrawal Vice-Chancellor, Ghasidas Central University (GGCU) Bilaspur, was chief guest at the valedictory session. Highlighting the role of such programmes in augmenting and enhancing the skill sets of the teaching faculty, Prof Kumar talked about the new challenges being faced by teachers today.  He urged the teachers in higher educational institutions (HEIs) to make their students globally competitive and also laid emphasis on adopting best practices related to modern pedagogy. Director HRDC Prof Mushtaq A Darzi highlighted the significance of such refresher courses in familiarising teachers  with best practices in the realm of modern-day pedagogy. Irshad Ahmad Malik, Course Coordinator from Department of Management Studies provided a brief overview of the refresher course. Several participants gave their feedback about the course, saying it offered them a new vision and understanding related to emerging areas and advances in their concerned fields of study. Coordinator HRDC, Dr Sumeer Gul moderated the valedictory session and also delivered a vote of thanks.
