Bandipora 01 August: Two days after Jammu and Kashmir Government cancelled attachment of Doctors and paramedical staff, Block Medical Officer Bandipora relieved 12 employees from the block to their original places of postings.
An order wide no. BMOB/Est/2022/363-68 dated 01/08/2022 which is in the possession of Kashmir Convener states that 12 employees including 06 doctors working in block Bandipora as medical officers and 06 staff members are hereby transferred to their original place of postings with immediate effect.
Earlier Principal Secretary to the government, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi issued an order on July 29 cancelling all attachments of doctors and paramedic staff. He said with a view to ensure better health care facilities in rural areas, all the attachments of doctors and paramedic staff which have been made by all the Head of Departments including CMOs, ADMOs and BMOs or any other officer at their own level from time to time are hereby cancelled with immediate effect and have been asked to report back to their original places of postings. He said DDOs have been asked not to draw salaries of such employees attached in their jurisdictions henceforth.
The decision has been hailed by the people in rural areas as they allege that doctors and paramedic staff use their influence to get themselves attached to hospitals in towns and cities for their own convenience that badly hit the healthcare services in rural areas.
