Bandipora, August 01: With an aim to imbibe in the younger generation the entrepreneurship mindset, an innovation Mela was organised in Higher Secondary School Izmarg of Gurez Valley.
An official said owing to the constant efforts and liaison of Battalion with Civil Administration to promote quality education in the Kanzalwan sub sector, a team from National Innovation Foundation (Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India) is on a week long visit to the sub sector to look out and sponsor the Best Science Innovation.
He said the team was taken to Higher Secondary School, Izmarg where they delivered a lecture educating the students about the ‘Inspiring Minds’ program under which the science innovations will be sponsored by the Government of India.
"Students who have already been preparing for Innovation Mela presented their respective innovations to the team.
Out of 164 innovations presented, ‘Facelock authentication at ATMs’ by Ms. Sahid Ud Islam has been selected which will be forwarded to Srinagar unit of the Innovation Foundation.
The team will further visit all schools in the sub sector looking for other innovative ideas by the students. "The fact that a girl child in the valley has participated and has put up an innovation which has got selected shows the gradual evolution of the society into being more inclusive.
