Srinagar, Mar 29: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Tuesday revealed that 27 more properties have been bought by outsiders in J&K in last three months alone while as 34 non-local residents have purchased property in J&K post Article 370 rollback.
Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai in a written reply to a question of parliamentarian Fazlur Rehaman of BSP said that 34 non local residents have bought properties in J&K after abrogation of article 370.
"As per the information provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, 34 persons from outside the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) have bought properties in UT of J&K after abrogation of Article 370." Rai said in a written reply, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
"The properties are located in Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur and Ganderbal districts,” he said.
In December last year MHA has said that seven plots of land were bought by people from outside J&K in the UT.
He had said that all seven were located in Jammu and no such purchase was made in the Kashmir Valley.
However, on Tuesday MHA said that total 34 properties have been purchased by non local people in J&K which means 27 properties have been purchased in last three months and among 27 new purchased properties, some have been bought in Ganderbal district as well.
Notably, in August last year MHA has informed that two persons from outside J&K have bought properties in J&K after abrogation of article 370—(KNO)
