KC Impact: Bandipora Admin conducts survey of Tangtheri habitation for road connectivity 

Bandipora, March 27: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad,  the R&B Division Bandipora has conducted a detailed survey of remote Tangtheri habitation aiming to propose construction of a road.

Responding to the news item carried by Kashmir Convener On March 22 regarding the lack of basic facilities including road and water.

 District Administration Bandipora said a Detailed Project Report (DPR) shall be framed to explore the possibility of connecting the Tangtheri habitation with road connectivity.

Tangtheri habitation comprises of around 20 households and is situated around 2 kms from Athwatoo village- the last motorable point enroute Village of Tehsil Bandipora.

DC Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad while responding to the issue raised by Kashmir Convener, said given the small size, tough terrain, and topography, the habitation is yet to be connected with an all-weather road. "However, R&B Division Bandipora has conducted a survey of the area, and detailed DPR shall be framed to explore the possibility of connecting the said habitation with road connectivity," He said in a Statment.

Dr Owais said the habitation is connected with electricity infrastructure, but the same faces some longer disruptions during winters due to heavy snowfall, and given the tough terrain and topography, restoration takes a bit longer time.

He said drinking water is being provided from a local spring, including a local school. Since the pipeline is directly connected with the spring and due to depletion of level in spring, the water supply gets affected partially. 

 DC Bandipora said  04 public stand posts have been installed for providing temporary relief to the area. " In order to overcome the problem permanently, the area has been proposed under  JJM under WSS Authwatoo, for which tendering action is under process". He said a 5000 Gallons SR, Spring Protection Chamber, and Pipe Network has also been proposed.
