Bandipora, March 24: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) BEACON on Thursday said that it is in the process of drafting a proposal for construction of a bridge at Barnai Nallah.
In a statement issued on Thursday Officer Commanding RCC GREF Bandipora said there was a 40-feet bailey bridge installed over Barnai Nallah but got washed away in 2012. “ At Kilometer 15.505 on the road Dewar Ninu-Baruab Chakwal Kabul Gali, a bridge was existing but on 22 Aug 2012 the Bailey bridge was washed away and the line of communication was restored through Nallah”.
He said since then alternate arrangements were made but the Nalla frequently keeps changing its course thus making it difficult for engineers to choose the location. He said the proposal for the construction of a new bridge is recommended once the course of Nallah becomes stable.
OC said the case for construction of the bridge is being processed for approval of higher authorities.
Earlier locals complained that they are facing problems due to lack of a bridge over the Nallah and demanded construction of the bridge over the Nallah so that Dawar is connected with Tulail through it.
