Bandipora, October 16: Rotary International District 3232 on Friday visited Machal Village of district Kupwara distributed about 50 laptops among children as part of frontier literacy project.
In a statement issued today, club officials said this is the second time in less than three months that they visited Machhal village and reviewed the education system.
During this visit they distributed Fifty Dell laptops to the children. “A total of 110 school children along with teachers and Sarpanches were present for this initiative,” statement reads.
In this first step of literacy drive five villages were covered to include Macchal, Pushwari, Dapbal, Mishri Bheikh and Katwar. Officials said the main aim of the Rotary club is to spread literacy in the remote location of the valley and empower students to learn through modern era of education and information technology.
He said in the month of Nov/ Dec 2021, they will be further providing all the schools falling under with 25 x high end desktops and 150 x laptops.
Rotary International District 3232 also has agreed to sanction funds under, Global Grant's in tune of 30000 USD ( INR 23 Lakhs) for establishing hospitals surgical equipments , health officials for Machhal and the surrounding villages . “Their noble service to Macchal and surrounding villages are appreciated by all sections of the people”.
