Bandipora, August 21: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir Saturday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review Covid-19 mitigation efforts and the progress of vaccination in the district.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Covid19 Mehraj Wani, Block Medical Officer Dr Masarat. Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq, heads of various education institutions and other senior officers of the district.
The meeting discussed the status of Covid-19 vaccination in the district. It was given out that 1.54 lakh vaccination doses have been administered in the district out of the toital target of 2.97 lakh doses. Officials informed that the 100 percent target have been achieved for the vaccination of persons above 45 years of age while vaccination of 18-44 YO is going on.
Officers informed that 337 booth level teams have been constituted for door to soor survey while 10 booth level teams headed by ione supervisor and a doctor have been constituted that go door to door every day to vaccinate above 18 age group.
On the occasion ADC directed to intensify the vaccination process especially for the people entering Bandipora from outside. He also directed the heads of education institutions including Colleges, Polytechniques, ITI to complete vaccination of 18 plus Age group students as soon as possible while Department of Youth Services and Sports were also directed to start vaccination of sportspersons entering stadiums and other playgrounds. Officers of Urban Local Bodies and Tehsildars were directed to ensure 100 percent vaccination of persons in towns and markets.
ADC Bandipora also directed officers of Health Department to intensify testing especially for the visitors of hospitals so that doctors are protected from getting infected from the virus. He also directed concerned Health authorities to involve services of Asha workers to facilitate the persons above 19 years to get vaccinated. He also directed officers to intensify testing in the district with special focus on Schools/Colleges/Coaching Centres/Banks/Market areas besides surveillance on contact tracing of positive cases particularly in the offices where footfall is high.
Mir called for raising awareness among the masses to persuade the people especially above 18 years of age to go for vaccination. He called for roping in NGOs, Religious heads, PRIs and other influencers to motivate the eligible persons for vaccination. The ADC during the meeting said that there is no scope of downsizing the ongoing precautionary measures and adherence of SOPs. He instructed that anyone violating guidelines and SOPs including wearing masks while going out or attending gatherings shall be treated with strict penalty.
