Srinagar, August 11: Machil Brigade of Indian Army on Tuesday organised a psychological counseling session for the women at Dudi, Pushwari village in Machil valley.
An official spokesperson said the noted psychologist Sugandha Ramkumar conducted the session in collaboration with the Machil Brigade.
Ms Sugandha who is also CEO of “I Can Fly”-a Non-Governmental Organisation, is a renowned psychologist who conducts various workshops that focus on giving every student a space where he or she will be accepted, appreciated, educated in this era of challenges and cut throat competitions. “Her workshops enthrall student enabling them to facethe world with self confidence and honesty. The workshops also include vocational training and skill building,” reads the statement.
He said the psychological counseling lecture continued for about 4-hours wherein many relevant and contemporary topics were discussed. Some of the points discussed include menstrual hygiene, self-confidence, ability to speak in front of the gathering, self respect, need of social gatherings etc. “There were many issues which were raised by the ladies of the valley during the healthy interaction including need of gynecologists in the valley as Machil homes for about 1500 ladies as on date, the need of separate college for girls as they face an acute shortage of educational facilities at the valley, need of medical facilities in the valley and frequent lectures on self hygiene, need of higher education for the girls and the opportunities that are available for them”.
The lecture was widely appreciated by the ladies who attended it and helped them to enhance the knowledge of self hygiene, social gesture, issues and remedies faced by the ladies in the contemporary world.
