Bandipora, 06 July: Assistant Regional Transport Officer Bandipora had a narrow escape when part of a ceiling collapsed, sending Plaster of Paris (PoP) crashing on the floor.
A large portion of plaster ceiling in the corridor collapsed leading to injury of one visitor at the ARTO officer. The injured was shifted to hospital as celeing fell on his head.
Locals have been decrying use of substandard material in the buildings of Mini Secretariat by R&B Department. Earlier CMO Bandipora and many other officers had narrow escape in similar incidents.
During the incident, many applicants were waiting in the corridor in which one injured received head injury.
The ARTO office is situated in C Block of Mini Secretariat of Bandipora, which is only few years old. While. Talking to Kashmir Convener locals demanded through probe in the construction of Mini Secretrait and punish the people responsible for the use of sub standard construction material.
