Bandipora, Apr 18: The number of COVID-19 positive patients in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district crossed 5000 mark on Sunday as 44 cases were reported-the highest number this year so far.
The tally goes upto 5004 positive cases till date with 161 active cases. According to the bulletin released by the government, forty four tested positive for COVID-19 taking number to 5004. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the district includes 4780 patients who have recovered and 63 deaths.
Dr Nabeel Ishtiyaq in-charge COVID Control Room Bandipora told that all patients who tested positive for corona virus have been isolated and their contacts have been traced. He further said that the disease is spreading rapidly and we must support a #MaskUpBandipora campaign. “We all must join hands to protect one and all, it is turning messy,” he added.
Meanwhile, authorities have notified several areas as micro containment zones to trace the contact cases of positive patients in Bandipora to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
