Bandipora 12 April : Bandipora police to help women/girls who are facing any kind of harassment/violence established Women Help Desk at four police stations of the district including Police station Bandipora, Aragam, Sumbal and Hajin.
An official spokesperson said in order to further strengthen their functioning Scooties were alloted to them and keys were handed over to In charge women Help Desk by SSP Bandipora Mohammad Zahid -JKPS in function at DPL Bandipora. ASP Bandipora and DYSP DAR and other officers/officials of Bandipora police were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Bandipora ,said that Crime against women/girls is the most aggressive violation of human rights and that the victims often experience a sense of emotional numbness that could result in her taking drastic and fatal decisions.These Help Desks are aimed to respond to all such calls and provide a prompt /reliable mechanism against domestic violence and other offences against women/girls 24*7.
ASP Bandipora Shri Ashiq Hussain Tak -JKPS said that these Women Help Desks will help in protecting the rights of the women/girls in the district and expressed hope that the Women Help Desk would cater to the needs of women who face violence.
