The Muslim world will never be left for the mercy of Non-Muslims, so for as the guidance and spiritual divinity is concerned; be it the field of society, economy, finance, politics etc. Allah (subhanahu wa taa’la) had always and will continue to guide us towards success and progress by sending the saintly scholars and luminary spiritual personalities from his treasures, so as to lead us and to act as a ‘torch bearers’ for the whole Islamic world in general and the Un-Islamic world in particular. We always achieved laurels and touched the heights of success ever and always in each and every field of life. We were the ones who guided the humanity towards the success – the worldly as well as the eternal. We were the ones who ruled the whole world, from the east to west and from the north to south. History bear witness and geography bear testimony to the fact that we had always won hearts of the people of whose bi-product was the capturance of lands, sea routes and major trading ports of the world. We were the ones who acted as a role model for the greatest (so-called) Emperors of the world, whether it be the Roman or the Byzantine. We were the ones who gave the concept of science & technology to the world and that too when our envys were going through the dark ages.
Therefore the thousand Dirham question is that, the civilization which experienced such as vigor, valitity and stature, and simultaneously acted as a “TORCH BEARER” for the whole world for Centuries. Why is it so that we are facing such hardships and a state of bankruptcy at this point of time???
Before pondering and meditating about the cause and the remedial measure for the same, Let us all unconditionally first admit the fact that the human brain & sensations has got its limitations & jurisdictions, beyond which neither of the two can’t work and respond. The point from which our thinking power & sensations stop to work, the thinking and sensational power of a Nabi (alaihi salaatu wassallam) starts to work, and the point from where the thinking power and sensations of a Nabi (alaihi salaatu wassallam) stops to work and respond, the all round power of divine revelations (Wahi) starts to work.
Moreover, it is pertinent to mention here, that there is always certain limit of tolerance and provocation in each and every Creation of Allah (SWT) which on reaching its threshold and the point of saturation, starts responding, either pessimistically or optimistically. The Creator of this very particular entity is Allah (SWT), who despite the fact is the all knowing, the all wise, will also be acquainted with such entity and will also be having a threshold limit to it (tolerance & provocation)
Therefore from the above description, we came to the undisputed conclusion that we as a Muslims need to find the cause of the same from our illuminated history and its remedial measure from the divine revelation (the wahi) which are at our disposal in the form of the “HOLY QURAN” and the sayings of Prophet Mohammad (sallallaahu alaihi wassallam.)-“The Hadith…”
If we the Muslims wish to examine the mainspring of progress, we always need to look at the causes of progress enjoyed by the Muslims. We do not ever need to consider the reasons for the 'progress' of the non believers because the spiritual nature of every nation is as diverse as its culture.
However, those communities bother to know the history of their culture and civilization, the geography of that very particular community gets changed very early, easily and automatically. Furthermore, whatever is beneficial to one nation, will not necessarily be beneficial to another. In fact, what could be of benefit to one individual may not be beneficial to another individual of the same nation. What is favorable to a village-dweller is not favorable to one of a gentle disposition. Following our acceptance of Islam, we have become a gentle disposition. We now enjoy a majestic temperament and (individual) imperial nature. Hence, things that are of benefit to the non-believers will not be of benefit to us. We are linked to head-gear. If any impurity gets into it, one would dispose off the head-gear immediately. On the other hand, one would dispose off one's shoes if any impurity gets into them.
Similarly, Allah Taa'la does not like to see us soiled with (spiritual) filth and impurity. If we are spiritually soiled, we will be dealt with immediately. However, no matter how soiled the non-believers are, they will be tolerated (to a certain extent).
Hence if we wish to succeed, we need to examine the causes of success enjoyed by the early Muslims. Those who have studied the history of Sahabah-e-kiraam (ridhwanullaahi taa'la alaihim ajmaeen) are quite cognizant of the fact that they progressed only because of their subservience and submission to Din. They were staunch (orthodox) followers of Din. Their inter-related dealings, social lives and character, all conformed to the teachings of Islam. As a result, other nations were automatically drawn towards Islam. If they encountered any hostilities, divine assistance was always at hand because they earned the pleasure of Allah Taa'la. It was the very same celetial attention and the center of gravity, they enjoyed that in spite of their meager materialistic possessions and seemingly insignificant figures, great empires did not confront them and even did not dared to look at them……
