DDC Bandipora reviews implementation of various Developmental projects, schemes

Stresses on exploring avenues for opening more income generating units  

BANDIPORA, MAY 11: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on Saturday convened a meeting of officers to discuss the implementation of various developmental projects in the district.

           The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Jahangir Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Tajamul, Chief Education Officer Javid Iqbal, District Heads of Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and other allied departments besides Executive Officers of various Municipalities of the district.

          The meeting discussed threadbare the progress of various developmental projects and several state and central sponsored schemes and also discussed the bottlenecks that hinder the smooth implementation of these projects.

          While reviewing the performance of the previous financial year of various departments, DDC Bandipora also set targets for the ongoing financial year and also directed the officers to devise the plans that will benefit large section of society. He directed for exploring avenues for generating more income generation units for unemployed youth.

The department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry department and other allied departments were asked to explore avenues to establish more units to double the production in next two years so that more people get jobs in the sector besides fulfilling the demand of market thereby making the district self sufficient.

The Municipal Committees were also directed to come up with e detailed projects for beautification of towns besides improving the drainage system and other urban amenities. He asked the departments to come up with a blue print of these upcoming projects at earliest so that same could be put before administrative departments for approval.
