Govt Polytechnic College Bandipora organizes Day-long symposium on Technical Education

 

BANDIPORA, APRIL 27: Government Polytechnic College Bandipora On Thursday organized a day-long symposium on "Role and Scope of Technical Education".

          Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza was chief guest on the occasion while Superintendent of Police Rahul Malik was guest of honor. Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir and District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora Altaf Hussain, District Food Safety Officer Dr Yameen and Superintendent ITI were also present on the occasion.

          Speaking on the occasion,  Deputy Commissioner stressed on imparting technical education to the next generation and said that  the Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life.

He said the Technical Education is instrumental in making the remarkable contribution to economic growth of the Developing Countries by way of suitable manpower production according to the needs of the Industry, Society and the Global World as a whole. He said to produce fully skilled manpower/ knowledgeable technocrats in the present era of science and technology is the need of the hour.

          Earlier Principal Government Polytechnic College Bandipora Javid Iqbal Bhat welcomed the   guests and explained the aims and objectives  for organizing such debates. He said the need of the hour is to switch over to technical education  which can be the prime field to eradicate the unemployment in the  state. He said the real empowerment lies in the skill and the skilled youth is the real resources for the state.

          He also presented a  powerpoint presentation highliughting the achievement of the college, Academic Developments , Practical Training and Plan proposal for the Academic Year 2019-20 . He also flagged some of the issues to which the Deputy Commissioner assured full support for their redressal. He also hailed the efforts of  Principal in all round development of college.

          Students Salman Shafi Akhoon, Imran Farooq and Saqib Rasool were adjudged as first three position holders of the debate who were awarded by the Chief Guest.

          On the occasion Best Teacher award was also given to Nazima Fayaz and Ishfaq Ahmad Sofia while Best student award was given to Imran Farooq Mir of Mechanical department and Banafsha of travel and tourism department. Punctuality award was given to employee Bashir Ahmad Mir.
