Pledges to carry forward his mission for highlighting media issues

Srinagar, Jun 15 (KNS): Expressing anguish and grief over the murderous assault on noted journalist and Rising Kashmir editor-in-chief, Syed Shujaat Bukhari, Jammu and Kashmir Editors Forum Friday said his killing has created a vacuum, which can never be filled.

They said that Syed Shujaat Bukhari thought- out his career highlighted the issues of common masses who suffered immensely during the last three decades of conflict in the valley.

thus career, he nourished and encouraged the budding journalist who currently are holding higher position in international media houses. He was ready to help his juniors. He never ever stepped back from speaking facts and truth at international forums,” the statement said.
Being as the founding member of Jammu and Kashmir Editors Forum, the association said they will carry forward the mission of the Syed Shujaat Bukhari to highlight the problems of media fraternity in general and people in particular.
The editors’ forum said that Syed Shujaat Bukhari had always dreamt for the upliftment of the regional media by highlighting their issues and problems.
“We will carry forward his mission and accomplish Shujaat
sahab’s dream in whatever circumstances. He was a noble person apart from being a highly professional journalist,” the statement said.
The Forum thanked the media fraternity, civil society, separatists, government and people who were equally shattered by the killing of Syed Shujaat Bukhari.
Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was held by the forum in which the members paid rich tribute to Syed Shujaat Bukhari.
A resolution was also passed in which the members decided to work for the betterment of the local media on all fronts.
“He is a martyr and his murders should be identified and dealt sternly under
