Enforcement team of Agriculture department conducts market checking in Bandipora

Bandipora, March 24:- A team of Enforcement Officers of Agriculture department under the supervision of District Law Enforcement Officer conducted Market checking on Saturday here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

The team headed by District Law enforcement officer Mohammad Sayeed along with Fertilizer Inspector, Barkat Ali Khan Law Enforcement Inspector Bandipora, GM Magray with field staff, Shabir Ahmad Naikoo and Javaid Mohammad Lone conducted market checking with an aim to provide quality inputs to the farmers at reasonable prices and to create a sense of quality consciousness among the dealers.

The checking squad observes compliance to insecticides Act, 1968, Seed act, 1966 and FCO 1985 at various trading units/ dealers, shops of Insecticides/ Fungicides/ Pesticides/ Fertilizers and Seeds.

The Fertilizer dealer were directed to keep the rate list of Fertilizers displayed at prominent places along with license in their premises/ shops and also to maintain proper record and issue cash memo to the farmers against each purchase made.

Some dealers were found misusing their Fertilizer License and accordingly on spot action as warranted under rules was initiated against them for violating norms.

Meanwhile the department advised the farming community/ orchardists to purchase the Insecticides/ Seeds/ Fertilizers against the proper cash memo/ receipt from the registered dealers.

Traders and Locals extended their cooperation  and appreciated the role of agriculture enforcement team and said such checkups should be conducted in future as well so that farmers will get benefit and informed about the rates and know the better quality of pesticides/fertilizers and seeds.
