Cleanliness week: Teachers, Parents Join hands to clean surroundings in Authwatto

Authwatto (Bandipora), March 20: The Government Boys Primary School Koli Mohallah Authwatto on Tuesday organised a cleanliness drive in connection with the Cleanliness week being celebrated by the Department of School Education Kashmir across the Valley.

            The School teachers and parents of the students joined hands to clean surroundings of the school while students witnessed the process to understand the importance of the cleanliness. On the occasion teachers raised awareness about the cleanliness and appealed the locals to join hands to keep their surroundings clean for the benefit of their own health and health of their children.

            Headmaster of the School Nisar Ahmad Sheikh said Authwatto village is a virgin tourist spot in Bandipora and from past few years has seen a flow of tourists again and hence cleanliness is important to welcome tourists. He said the people were made aware about the importance of their place and the importance of cleanliness and sanitation.

            Sheikh Said during the week many programs with regard to the cleanliness and sanitation will be organised wherein the students, parents and the locals will also take part.

            He further said on the culmination of the program, CEO Bandipora will be the Chief Guest and will give award to the students of the school.

            Earlier the Department of School Education  Kashmir had announced to celebrate cleanliness drive from March 20 to 27, 2018 in all the Institutions of the State.
