Bandipora Contractors threaten boycott to development works, tenders

Bandipora, 03 March 2018: Accusing Government of being indifferent to their “genuine” demands, the President Contractors Association Bandipora today threatened to stop work on all developmental projects under execution and boycott tenders.

        Association warned the government to clear all their liabilities which are crores in amount and are still pending in departments. “If our demands are not fulfilled, we will stop works on all developmental projects under execution and will boycott to participate in tendering process from next financial year,” President of the Association, Naseer Ahmad Mir said.

        Speaking about the demands, Mir said the contractors were being compelled to pay double service sales tax on execution of development works. “We have been since long demanding that this practice should be abolished,”  apart from this contractors have demanded to withheld the decision of E-billing system till next financial year as they are not ready for this upgraded system it causes inconvenience to them.
