ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 26: Minister for Revenue, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today reviewed the developmental scenario of the Anantnag district.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik, SE R&B, ADC, ACR, SDM, Tehsildars, officials of JKPCC, PMGSY of Anantnag District.
On the occasion, Veeri sought the status of various developmental activities going on in the district and asked the officers to pace up the work to meet the deadlines.
The Revenue Minister was informed that 396.50 kms of road length was macadamized in the district including 36.50kms under CM’s commitment, 269.05 state sector, 8.50 kms under DDB decisions, 44.55 under NABARD, 20kms under CRF, 15.40kms under non plan and 2.50 kms under District Sector roads.
Taking the review of projects under R&B, Veeri asked the status of widening/ upgradation of road from Sangam to Sirgupwara, Mattan Akura Pushkeri road upto Hugam Nambal, Mattan Achabal road, Bypass Mehndikadal to Ashajipora, Verinag Kapran road, road along Brengi canal, Larkipora-Zaldoora Lisser Road, Seer Hapatnard road, Brakpora Kanganhall Chittergul road, Khanbal Pahalgam road and 4-lanning of national highway in district Anantnag.
Veeri directed the officers to expedite the process of land acquisition required for the construction of various projects in districts beside he asked concerned to remove bottle hampering completion of projects. Many road projects which were in limbo due to land acquisition issues were discussed in the meeting wherein separate deadlines were setup for each project. He asked for joint verification of concerned agencies for disposal of land acquisition and compensation cases.
The other projects which were discussed include Steel Grider bridge over Katroo Satkipora Nalla, VVIP Guest House Dak Bunglow Khanabal, span bridge on Talwani issues Wangam road, span bridge on Phroo Wandewalgan Kokernag, double lane steel trussed bridge near club park over Sheshnag Nalla Pahalgam, Pushwara Sofigund Bridge, Rakhi Chee Bridge, Vethwatroo Nalla at Babapora, span bridge on Qammer Doodwangan, Reshipora Hargawas Kapran bridge and Kuchipora Sangran Anantnag.
The meeting also discussed auditorium in BHSS Bijbhehra, VVIP guest house Dak Bunglow, SDH Shangas, Eklaviya Model School Salia and Government Polytechnic College Larkipora constructed by R&B.
The officials of JKPCC also informed the Minister about the status of construction on Government Medical College Dailgam, Block B at District Hospital Anantnag, Trauma Hospital Bijbehera, SDH Kokernag, PHC Nowgam, PHC Sirhama, GDC Kokernag, GDC Utersoo, Canteen cum lavatory blocks at GDC Womens Bijbhera, Pushwara Bridge, official residential quarters Khanabal, Ziyarat Shareef Works Anantnag, Tehsil Office Mattan, Toursit Facilitaion center Anantnag, Gardihanjipora Bridge Bijbhehra.
Veeri also sought details about the critical projects including construction of PHC Dialgam, construction of NTPHC Veeri, NTPHC Keherpora, PHC Kapran, PHC Qammer, PHC Buntoru, PHC Chiturgul, PHC Awoora and PHC Hapatnard.
The Minister was also informed that work on 26 PHE schemes conceived to benefit 79 habitations is going on in full swing.
He also sought details about different projects in minor irrigation, NRDWP, flood control works particularly construction of retaining walls on River Jehlum, besides PMGSY projects including HLD Chechkoot to Nanil, B.L road to Katu, DEssu to Lehnwan Margan. The Minister stressed on completion of road projects within stipulated time and said these projects are vital for fostering connectivity.
Saying that Jablipora Fruit Mandi coming up at a cost of Rs 35. 60 crore will uplift the economic profile of south Kashmir, Veeri stressed on speedy completion of the project.
He was also informed about the projects of housing department including Sewerage treatment plant near stadium, Septage management at Uranhal for Anantnag town, stormwater drainage system for Anantnag under AMRUT and solid waste management treatment plant.
Stressing on the need to reduce transmission losses, Veeri asked PDD officials to chalk out a strategy to minimize losses for efficient transmission system.
