BCC Bandipora beat Pulwama Tigers in innaugral match

Bandipora, 24Nov:- The 3rd edition of Open Kashmir T20 cricket tournament organized by Hashmee Cricket Club in association with Cricket Forum Bandipora started on Friday at Sher e Kashmir Sports Stadium Bandipora.
A colorful inaugural function took place in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai presided over as Chief guest while as Director BCIT, Fayaz Ahmad and President Traders Federation Bandipora, Shamshad Kuchay presided over as Guest of honours and thrown open the tournament.
Speaking on the ocassion Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, said that the tournament will provide a strong platform for emerging young players to showcase their talent besides helping in their overall personality development. He hoped such events should be organised in future for Youth as such events will boost youngsters and they will not indulge in bad habits,he said.
The organizing committee members said that the tournament provides an opportunity to the budding cricketers to show case their talent.
They said, Sixty four Cricket clubs from across the kashmir will participate in the tourney.
The inaugural match was played between Pulwama Tigers vs Bandipora Cricket club in which BCC beat Pulwama by 6 wickets with 9 balls to play.
After winning the toss pulwama Tigers decided to bat first and managed to set 141 target for BCC With Majid scoring 42 of 37 balls, Shiraz blistered 38 of 23 balls and Javeed contributed 21 of 23 balls.
For BCC Jamsheed was pick of the bowlers who picked up 2 wickets while as Umar Ellahi, Raja Saleem and Umer Farooq took one wickets each.
Bandipora Cricket Club Chased down the target of 141 for the loss of 4 wickets in 19 overs with the help of Umar Ellahi brilliant 32 of 18 balls. Nasir and Mudasir contributed 28,22 runs playing 23,19 balls.
Umar Ellahi for his brilliant All-round performance was awarded Man Of The Match.
During the innaugral Ceremony special awards were presented to Retired players of Bandipora by the organisers Committee.
Farooq Ahmad Bhat who was known for his brilliant Bowling skills played for Hashmee Cricket Club, Ayaz Ahmad Malla, a well known Footballer of Bandipora played for Hashmee Football club were specially awarded along with other players of the district.
Large number of sports loving people had thronged to the Bandipora sports stadium to watch the inaugural event.
