Power Crisis in Bandipora: Traders threaten agitation

Bandipora,November 24: With the onset of winter, Power crisis has worsened in the Kashmir Valley especially in rural areas with PDD going on random load shedding.

            People from many areas of Bandipora and its adjoining villages complained that they are facing hardships due to unscheduled power cuts. Despite paying electricity dues on time, department failed to provide the electricity on the schedule they announced last month, said President Traders Federation Bandipora Shamshaad Ahmad.
            The residents of Main Market , Plan, Kaloosa, Watapora, Gamroo, Papchan, Sonerwani, areas of Bandipora complained that electricity is playing hide and seek since winter begins in Valley, they said that students are most affected who have to appear in the examinations as they  are unable to concentrate on their studies due to unscheduled power cuts.
            Mumtaz Ahmad a local businessman said PDD has failed to restore regular power supply which takes toll on their routine business.  President Traders Federation warned that if department failed to restore electricity as per schedule, they will have no other option but to come on streets and agitate against the concerned department.
