Demands completion of pending long projects in Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 23: PDP General Secretary Nizam-ud-din on Thursday said that the state government is taking significant measures to restore peace and ensure progress.

Interacting with deputations and party workers during his two-day visit to Bandipora he said the state will soon witness a conducive atmosphere for harmonious growth and competitive political activity, besides a healthy discourse on social issues.

He said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has succeeded in her efforts to engage New Delhi in positive, people- friendly activity and attitudes within the political dispensation and establishment have changed from apathy or arrogance to empathy and concern.

He said recent measures like Amnesty to stone pelters, additional power, opening of communication channels for talks, cut in GST on Kashmir specific goods, hike is central assistance are the outcome of her sustained efforts to change the negative discourse.

Bhat said the latest PDP – BJP decisions taken at coordination committee meeting of the two parties should leave no doubt that the coalition government is keen to promote dialogue on issues and reinforce the will for the accomplishment of agenda of alliance.

He said there is strong desire in both parties to empower the youth of the state and provide people opportunities to flourish. Bhat said Chief Minister’s reach out to grass root is another big factor which is helping establish a positive discourse on government, it's agenda and functioning. He said more concrete steps are in offing to push the agenda of peace and development.

He demanded the proper surveillance of funds provided under various schemes for developmental use as there is need to ensure accountability and pre-empt political interference in development.

Bhat also demanded that the government should ensure completion of Grid Station at Putushai which is a long pending of the people of Bandipora to increase power scenario in the district.

He said that works on all pending projects like district hospital Bandipora and polytechnic college be resumed and funds for Wular and Tribal Sub-plan are also released so that Bandipora can keep pace with the development.

He also said that also demanded that the vacancies in various government departments under district sector be fulfilled so that unemployment is addressed in the district.
