934 traffic violators booked under MV Act: SSP Traffic
Srinagar, Nov 03 (KNS): In its continuous efforts to curb the menace of wrong parking, Traffic Police City Srinagar Friday said that it launched special drive against wrong parking.
“Special focus were given to Karan Nagar, Lal Chowk, Hair Singh High Street and Jehangir Chowk,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic City Srinagar, Tahir Saleem Khan in a statement issued to KNS said.
He said that during the special drive, 934 traffic violators were booked under M.V Act, which includes 118 two wheelers, 199 Passenger Service Vehicles, 478 LMV’s and 143 vehicles were seized.
The statement further reads that the General Public is requested to desist from wrong / obstructive parking and is requested to park their vehicles only at the designated parking places to avoid inconvenience to the commuters and to avoid deterrence from the Court of law. “We seek the co-operation of general public to make City Srinagar congestion free,” the statement added.
