Drug Inspector conducts  market checking in Bandipora

Bandipora, November 03:  A team of Health officials headed by Drug officer Shabir Ahmad, on Friday took stock of the availability of essential drugs in Gurez valley of Bandipora district and conducted market checking to check the availability of legitimate drugs in the market.

            An official said during the checking the team  sealed  a medical store operating in violation of the norms laid by the health department.  They said the team found satisfactory stock of available drugs in Gurez, "On our inspection to Dawar we found satisfactory stock of vital drugs in case of emergency," said Shabir Ahmad.

            The team has also collected samples for analysis from various in the district, and provided instructions to in-charge stores with regard to record keeping, and storage  conditions of various vital drugs.

            Detailed inspection of various chemist shops were also conducted in the area wherein the chemists were directed to maintain sufficient inventory of life saving and other drugs, keeping in view the  topography and weather conditions of Gurez valley.

            In Sonawari area, the team conducted inspections of  drug stores outside Community Health Centre Sumbal and Hajin. The inspection team directed them to maintain sale and purchase of drugs, besides given format as how to maintain prescription inventory.

    In sensitization programme drug dealers of Bandipora town too were instructed on  various issues like maintaining computerized  record of sale and purchases of drugs , selling of drugs to licensed dealers and maintenance of separate register for all psychotropic drugs.

            The officer heading the team said that "these rigorous exercises will follow in the district so to aware people and keep Medical stores in check."
