Srinagar, Mar 05 (KNS): Reacting to the news piece appeared in Srinagar based Daily English Paper regarding allocation of funds to Summer capital, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Spokesperson has said that despite having 12 Lakh souls the fund allocation to Summer capital is just Rs. 102 crore which is very low as compared to other districts and urged upon the Govt to change its attitude towards the people of summer capital.
The Spokesperson said that although the Congress Party is committed to equitable developmental of the State, but at the same time, the party as a responsible opposition will fight against any kind of discrimination with any region be it Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh and will continue to fight for equitable development of all the three regions.
Lashing out at poor mechanism of fund allocation, The Spokesperson said PDP led Govt is adopting a discriminatory and biased approach towards the people, especially in valley in respect of fund allocation meant for developmental works, which is evident of fund allocation to Summer Capital. He sought explanation from the ruling PDP as to why summer capital is being ignored despite having five MLAs from Srinagar.
The Spokesperson added the discrimination with any district of the State is totally unacceptable, and he urged upon the Govt to revisit the mechanism of fund allotment meant for developmental works, as the discrimination with any district tantamount to denying people their basic rights. He said every district in the State should get the funds as per the population strength and Govt should not encourage any kind of discrimination at the administrative level.
