Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) has expressed its serious concern over the arrest spree of innocent youth of Palhalan, Pattan and terms it a deliberate attempt by government forces to disrupt peaceful atmosphere in valley.
In a statement issued to KNS, JeI spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali said the way government forces have started a fresh arrest spree in Palhalan Pattan area has created uneasiness among local populace and disrupts atmosphere in valley.
He said that forces have laid cordons at different places in North Kashmir in search of youth allegedly involved in stone pelting. Police have arrested dozens of youth including minors in and outside Palhalan randomly. Also in Pulwama, police have created war like situation and held several youth during day and night raids which has no legal and moral justification. The tactics adopted by police institution in valley resembles the tactics espoused by Israeli forces while dealing with the people of Palestine. This hateful behavior depicts police and other government forces in a well thought design pushing the youth of valley to the wall.
