Rajouri, Feb13 (KNS): Notwithstanding the tall claims by government to provide the best heal facilities to the people of remote areas in J&K, the district Hospital Rajouri is without doctors, medical staff, ambulances and stretchers.
Resident blames the government has failed to provide basic facilities like here, a stretcher is not available there.
Ambulance, Medicines are secondary. They said on Sunday a body was lifted on bed as hospital doesn’t have stretchers and no ambulance service is provided to needy people. The body was sent home in private vehicle.
Family of deceased alleged hospital authorities even not provide ambulance the shift, while on the other side state government is claiming that it would introduce high-tech ambulance service along the highway, district hospital Rajouri – catering to the needs of thousands of people every day – is facing acute shortage of doctors – especially specialists – paramedics and technical staff.
Local said that the government has failed to provide health care facilities to the poor and downtrodden people of the far flung areas.
The district hospital is having only two ambulances against the sanctioned strength he said adding, the hospital is also facing shortage of technical staff.
Acute shortage of ambulances to ferry dead bodies of patients who die in the hospital is proving boon for private vehicle as the District Hospital Rajouri.
Despite increasing number of deaths in the accidents, only two ambulances are available in District Hospital to cater the needs of the people to shift the dead bodies of their near and dear ones to their respective residences, which clearly shows the neglecting attitude of the hospital authorities, who have not paid serious attention towards the proposal for enhancing the number of ambulances
People are now dependent on the persons who have engaged their vehicles in hospitals to carry the dead bodies. It is against the norms and raises question mark on the Government which claims to have received award at national level”, they added.
Chief Medical Officer Rajouri told KNS that hospital have all facilities and they are doing to reach the people on time. (KNS)
