
Srinagar, Feb 13 (KNS): The residents of Surigam village of Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district are up in arms against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) for failing to provide water supply in there are from past 120 days.
Accusing the authorities in the PHE department for ignoring their plights, the residents of Surigam here have demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
Talking to KNS, the residents said that acute water scarcity has hit the village from past 20 day while the officials are paying heed over the sufferings of the inhabitants.
“We approached to the higher ups in this regard but unfortunately all in vain. All the assurances given by the officials proved hoax,” Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, a resident of Surigam Lolab said.
He said that the authorities must not ignore their plights and should take the measures in this regard at earliest so that the inhabitants here could feel a sigh of relief.
The inhabitants later appealed to the PHE officials to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest. (KNS)
