Anayat calls for mass awareness about latest farming techniques

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 06: Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today called for organizing awareness camps in Ladakh region to create awareness among farmers about the latest farming techniques and the schemes being provided by the Government for the welfare of the farming community.

The Chairman was addressing a meeting convened to discuss and review the functioning of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments in Ladakh region.

The Chairmen stressed for taking concrete and innovative measure for the conservation of endangered species like Double Hump Camel, Zanskari Horse and Yak in the region.

Taking stock of Liquid Nitrogen Plant in Ladakh region, the Chairman directed for its up-gradation and for making it effective and result oriented.

While taking review of availability of Fodder Production in the region, Haji Anayat asked the concerned to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.

Detailed discussion was also held on staff strength of both the departments and the department desired that there is necessity of creation of posts of Joint Directors in the region to streamline these departments. The Chairman asked the concerned to prepare proposals and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of approval.

On the occasion, Ladakh Development Hill Council demanded for establishment of two Veterinary Hospitals in the region. The Chairman assured them that the issue will be taken with the Government on priority.      The Chairman also stressed upon the official of animal and sheep husbandry departments to implement the Schemes like DEDS, NLM and RIDF on ground and also asked the concerned to work with utmost dedication and in unison.

Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Commissioner Secretary Animal Husbandry Department R.K Bhagat, Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Chapru, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kargil Dr. Fida Hussain, Livestock Development Officer Kargil Dr Gulzar Hussain and various other officers were present in the meeting.
