Sinha group hints at starting ‘unconditional talks’ with separatists

Srinagar, Dec 13 (KNS): Hinting that “unconditional dialogue” will be initiated to resolve long pending Kashmir issue, former external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha Tuesday said that they are making efforts to convince New Delhi to invite Kashmiri separatists on the talking table.

Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the informal meeting here at local hotel, Sinha said, “After culminating the previous visit, we compiled the report and talked with the authorities in the power over the situation in Kashmir,” he said.
He said that they are making efforts to convince federal government to invite separatist to initiate a dialogue to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue.
Sinha said that he cannot talk about the outcome of their visit to Kashmir but is hopeful that there will be any positive outcome.
“We have just begun the process to reach out to the people without having any mandate. It would not be possible to talk about the outcome this time but I believe that there will be positive outcome,” he said.
He said that it is true that such processes failed in the past but they have started the process once again with a hope that any positive outcome will be yielded due to which they chose to visit Valley second time.
According to KNS correspondent, Sinha told reporters, “We believe that the solution of Kashmir issues lies in the bullet of love and not in gun,” he said.
He said that they talked to different shades of people from the past three days which were quite fruitful.
Replying to a query about the arrest of political leaders and youth, Sinha said they have mentioned it in their previous report and will raise the issue once again after culminating the second visit.
The Sinha led delegation had visited Kashmir in October this year and had called on several separatist leaders. This is their second visit to the valley. Sinha along with other members of the delegation will flew back to Delhi on Wednesday morning. (KNS)
