Where are our files about our transfers: College professors to Akhtar

‘Transfers are routine practices, if stopped result in huge backlog’

Srinagar, Dec 07 (KNS): A delegation of college professors on Wednesday said that their demands and frequent representations to their concerned administrative department are still pending in the civil secretariat for the reasons known to the higher authorities.
“There are some professors/ lecturers who are languishing in the far-flung areas despite their mature stay. The newly opened colleges have departments without permanent faculties. Some colleges have a bulk of senior faculty members in a single deptt,” they told KNS.
They said there has been a past practice of transfers before Durbar move or immediately after the move at Jammu / Srinagar.
“Nov/Dec is considered as slack season for academics because university conducts most of the undergraduate exams in these months. Transfers are a routine practice, if stopped results in a huge backlog which creates unrest among the teaching community,” said the professors.
They said that their transfer files are pending for none of their faults. “We seek intervention of Chief Minister and Education minister to look into the matter so that our demand gets solved and system gets streamlined,” they added.
Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar said they should come to his office rather to KNS’s office. (KNS)
