Three more booked under PSA in Bandipora

Bandipora:- Three more persons were booked under PSA in North Kashmir’s  Bandipora district taking the total number of booked persons to 50.

Sources said, Police booked three persons under this controversial law for fueling unrest and organising pro-freedom rallies in the district.

They were identified as Sheikh Danish resident of Aloosa , Farooq Ahmad Mir resident of Putushay and Tahir Ahmad Mir resident of Plan Bandipora, all three were shifted to Kot-Balwal jail jammu.

Pertinently, sheikh Danish and Farooq Ahmad Sheikh were arrested from Sonerwani area along with two other persons and Tahir Ahmad Mir was arrested from his home last week.

According to sources, Tahir Ahmad Mir was an employee in Education department working as laboratory bearer. He was terminated from his services for leading protests during the ongoing uprising in Kashmir.
He was arrested on 20 November and has 13 FIR’s registered against him in police station Bandipora.

Sheikh Danish is Tehsil president Tehreek-i-Hurriyat Bandipora. There are nine FIRs registered against him for leading protests and fueling unrestin the district, sources said.

Earlier, 47 persons from past four months have been booked under PSA in Bandipora district for their alleged role in stone-pelting incidents and instigating people.

According to sources, out of 50 persons booked under PSA, 32 have been booked from Hajin and Sumbal while 18 persons have been booked in Bandipora tehsil.

Earlier, Hurriyat (G) District President Bandipora Rayees Ahmad Mir, District General Secretary Salman Yousuf have also been booked under PSA and sent to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
