Establish Ayush centers: appeals Sonawari residents

We are waiting for NOC; says officials

Sonawari, Nov 15 (KNS): Inhabitants of Sonawari area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district here on Tuesday appealed authorities to establish Ayush centres close to Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin and Sub District Hospital Sumbal.
Locals told KNS that authorities must establish two Ayush centres in the district so that they would receive treatment from there. “There are several patients mostly elders in our area who are undergoing treatment from different Ayush hospitals at Srinagar. Due to lack of Ayush centres in our area, the patients are being forced to cross 50 kilometers to receive treatment,” they said.
They said that the authorities must establish centres here so that the patients who are visiting Ayush hospitals in Srinagar would feel a sigh of relief.
Mushtaq Ahmad, a local resident said that a year back, MOS health, Asiya Naqash visited Sonawari during which they requested her to establish Ayush centers here. “She also directed concern authorities to take steps in this regard but unfortunately, nothing has been done in this regard,” he added.

We are ready to establish Ayush centres in the district but until we get NOC, we can’t establish centres there.”
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora, Dr Bilkees Mir said, “We have no authority to establish such kind of centres. In case, Director Health Services Kashmir will direct us to establish such centres in the district, we will follow the procedure in this regard.” (KNS)
