Srinagar, Oct 24 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Monday asked the state dispensation to provide compensation to the shop owners whose shops were gutted in a mysterious blaze in north Kashmir’s Tangmarg area on yesterday.
Mir while expressing solidarity with the shop owners said that shop owners lost their source of bread earning. “I appeal state government to provide immediate compensation to the fire victim shop owners so that they could feel a sigh of relief,” he said.
He said that the shops actually belong to Town Area Committee, who must renovate the shops again so that the affected shopkeepers could restore their business again.
Pertinently, on Sunday evening, five shops were gutted in Kunzer area of Tangmarg in Baramulla district, reports said.
They said these shops, “apparently torched for having opened during the day” were damaged in the blaze.
Police said no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents. (KNS)
