Bandipora, August 29: At least eight persons were injured in clashes that erupt in various parts of Bandipora district.
Five persons were injured in Ajas after army allegedly went berserk in the area beating the residents. Reports say five youths were admitted in Hajin Hospital.
BMO Hajin said three critically inured youths have been shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Locals say army barged into Bot Mohallah and Rather Mohalla villages of Ajas and beat up inmates and ransacked the property. A pro-freedom rally was also taken out in Gulshan Chowk Bandipora.
Three youth were injured as clashes broke out between protesters and government forces in Kaloosa area of Bandipora district on Monday.
Protesters clashed with forces after protests erupt against alleged highhandedness of forces in Kaloosa alleging army of harassing people in Khaar Mohalla.
Eyewitnesses said groups of youth near Kaloosa Bridge held strong protest demonstrations. Raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, they were demanding action against those forces personnel who harass people. As the police reached the spot protesting youth resorted to stone pelting.
Witnesses said huge contingents of forces intercepted the protesting youth and resorted to heavy teargas shelling.
Meanwhile locals in Nowpora make announcements on loudspeakers appealing people to stage protests after police arrested few children, locals said.
Residents of Ajas accused army and police of ransacking the houses and beating inmates. Locals from Ajas said that army and police in the afternoon without any provocation bragged into their houses, damaged property and beat everyone whosoever came in their way.
