India plays “dirty game” with Kashmiris in the garb of ‘love’: Shabir Shah reacts against Rajnath Singh’s remarks

Asks OIC to play practical role vis-a-vis Kashmir

Srinagar | Aug 21 (PTK): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sundaytermed the remarks of Indian home minister Rajnath Singh as “showoff” and far from reality saying the dirty game Indian leaders play with Kashmiris in the garb of “love” is known to everyone.

Rajnath had said, “I want to tell the people of Kashmir that we not only love the land of Kashmir but also its people. I would like to appeal to the Kashmiris that we do not want to see stones, bricks and firearms in their hands but pen, computers and jobs. We want to see you employed.”

In a statement issued to PTK, Shabir Ahmad Shah said the “love” of which Rajnath is talking about has put to death Kashmiris from a 3-year-old to an 80-year-old, and has injured more than 5000 people.

“Indian rulers don’t feel ashamed of calling the brutalities committed by its forces in Jammu Kashmir as ‘love’. The killings and reign of oppression unleashed by the Indian State upon the people of this State is known to everyone,” he said.

On Indian home minister’s remarks that he doesn’t “want to see stones, bricks and firearms in their hands but pen, computers and jobs”, Shabir Ahmad Shah said Rajnath before issuing such statement must reply as to why a lecturer was beaten to death by its forces. “Why aren’t his murderers brought to book,” Shah questioned.

“People of other Indian states to protest for their demands but bullets are not showered only into their chests neither are pellet guns used against them. Rajnath must be cognisant of the fact that Kashmiris don’t fight for any development or jobs but for that right which has been usurped by India and for which they struggle for the last 69 years,” Shah said.

The DFP chairman also rejected Indian leaders’s assertion that Kashmir is India’s internal matter saying Kashmir was never part of India which annexed this territory through military aggression.

Shah also hailed the pro-freedom spirit and steadfastness of the people of Jammu Kashmir saying the 43 day military siege hasn’t deterred them from pursuing the freedom struggle.

Welcoming the statement of OIC Secretary General about Kashmir, Shah said: “We have high hopes on the Muslim nations and expect them to use their good offices in putting an end to the grave human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir and pressurise India to grant the people of this State the right to self-determination. OIC has a big role to play.”

Shabir Ahmad Shah also hailed the people of Chenab Valley, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, and various regions of Jammu for standing shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in such hard times. (PTK)
