Srinagar | May 24 (PTK): While in other parts of India and more particularly in developed world, the VIP culture has ended long back, but the Lal-Batti vehicles continue to create nuisance on Kashmir roads.

Though, Kashmir is not England where the Prime Minister often travels by train that too without getting a seat, in this conflict torn region, in the name of security arrangements, the VIP’s cavalcades are often found in violating the traffic rules.

In last one week, the frequent violator of the traffic rules has been found the Minister for Roads and Buildings, Abdul Rehman Veeri.

When his cavalcade runs on the road, it gives an impression that the CM is coming. Throwing all the norms into dustbin, the minister’s cars amid siren sounds and continuous honking don’t even mind to take the wrong side of the route, which not only leaves people fuming, but creates problem in the smooth movement of the vehicle even coming from the opposite side.

And the same was witnessed just on last Friday. There was a massive traffic jam on the national Highway near Awantipora and the vehicles plying from Srinagar to Anantnag were stuck in the jam for hours, while the opposite tube (from Anantnag to Srinagar)  was smooth for the movement.

In the meantime the cavalcade of Veeri appeared which was heading southwards most probably going to Anantnag from Srinagar.

Witnessing the jam at Awantipora, the vehicles in the cavalcade honked like anything while his security guards waved guns and hands which created a sense of fear among the other vehicle drivers. Within no time, the vehicle entered into the opposite tube of the road, which only led to more traffic chaos.

While the minister left within minutes by disrupting the traffic order, it were the ordinary people like you and me who had to suffer because of the added traffic chaos created by the minister’s cavalcade.

The minister on Monday repeated the same near Dal-gate red light by jumping the signal
