Governor to address joint sitting at SKICC

‘Space constraint in Assembly complex force the move’

Srinagar, May 24 (KNS): Space constraint in the Assembly complex has compelled the administration to hold joint sitting of the legislature at SKICC tomorrow where the Governor N N Vohra will address to the legislators.
Secretary Legislative Assembly Mohammad Ramzan told KNS that all preparations have been made for the conduct of the Budget Session in the Assembly Complex.
“However, the joint sitting of the legislators that will be addressed by the Governor will be held at SKICC tomorrow (May 25),” the secretary told KNS. “Rest of the session will be conducted in Assembly complex,” he said.
Governor NN Vohra will address the joint sitting of the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council.
In this regard, the authorities today took review of the arrangements in the SKICC to conduct the joint session.
The start-of-the-art Assembly complex, built in 2008, has seating arrangement for 113 legislators— 87 elected, 2 nominated and 24 reserved for Pakistan administered Kashmir.
Since the seating strength of both the legislative Houses is 122, it cannot accommodate all the lawmakers. (KNS)
