‘Congress protest forces CM to change her route to Secretariat’

Won’t allow anyone to dilute special status of J&K: G A Mir

Srinagar | May 9 (PTK): J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today took a protest rally from Party Headquarters Srinagar in a bid to Gherao Civil Secretariat and against the policies of PDP-BJP Govt for what it termed its failure on all fronts on the first day of Darbar Move.

The protest march towards Civil Secretariat was intercepted by the heavy contingent of police at M.A. Road. Srinagar. The protestors also staged a massive sit in Dharna at the Middle of the road.

JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir who was leading the protest said that their protest forced the CM to change the route to reach Secretariat on the first day of opening of Darbar Move.

While addressing the protestors, Mir asked Mehbooba to explain which decision of her is correct either going with the BJP or the delay in Govt formation.

The PCC Chief said that the delay in Govt formation by her (Mehbooba Mufti) was a move to hoodwink the people again on the so called agenda of alliance by enacting different stories, first they (PDP) secured votes to stop BJP & RSS and now the same BJP & RSS is being imposed   by PDP on the people who have voted for them.

PCC Chief blamed PDP BJP Coalition for failing to address urges and aspirations of the people, for the fact, both PDP BJP have let down the people in every respect.

PCC Chief said Mehbooba Mufti has not even able to get 20% of relief package released by the Centre Govt out of 44000 crorers that the previous INC NC Coalition Govt had demanded keeping inview all aspects of the damages caused due to flood, he said.

G.A. Mir while taking a dig at  hasty and faulty implementation of Food Security Act in the State  accused Coalition Govt  for implementing the Act in haste without adequate ground work and in the absence of discussions and debate in the State legislature over the implications of its implementation in the State.

He said since PDP BJP has taken over, the entire ration distribution system has been derailed and people are deprived of ration facilities.

PCC Chief blamed PDP BJP Coaltion for  being non serious about  the regularization issue of the  Daily rated workers working in different departments,  the problems confronting RAMSA teachers  in absence of monthly wages, roll back of SRO 105 which has left quarry workers of Srinagar and elsewhere jobless, considerable rise in unemployment in the state and several other issues concerning people.

Lashing out at the Coalition Govt for abandoning the practice of having summer Secretariat and Winter Secretariat after the Darbar move to other region, he said   this move of the Govt would deprive the people of other region to have approach to the Govt for a period of six months, which is very unfortunate  and unacceptable, he added.

On this occasion PCC Chief made it clear that Congress Party won’t allow anyone to dilute the special status of the State, he was referring to the proposal of setting up of Sainik Colony.
