CM’s meetings with youth path breaking: MLA Wachi

“Youth empowerment is our agenda”

Srinagar, May 8: Peoples Democratic Party legislator from Wachi and Youth General Secretary JK, Aijaz Ahmad Mir hailed as “historic” and “path breaking” chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s meetings with youth delegations from different parts of the valley in Srinagar on Saturday.

Mir said that the chief minister’s meetings with youth from the Valley were “historic”.

“For the first time any chief minister of the state has met youth and first hold general meeting with them and then separate interactions with them all individually,” Mir said.

CM Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday met the youth delegations at Banquet Hall here for five hours and said youth have been the biggest casualty of more than two decades of violence and time has come to deliver the promise of a future which does justice to their enormous ability.

The young legislator said that the chief minister listened to their grievances and took their suggestions for resolving their issues.

“The youth were encouraged that the chief minister of the state could listen to their grievances so keenly and take their suggestions for better governance. The chief minister told the youth that she was their elder sister with whom they can contact directly for redressal of their grievances,” he said.

Mir said that such meetings with the youth are clear indications of the PDP to work for the empowerment and prosperity of the youth in the state.

“Our party led by Mehbooba ji will respect aspirations of the youth. Their involvement in development or political process will be a priority for the government,” Mir said, adding that youth empowerment is the agenda of the party.
