Thousands turn up to felicitate Islamic Jurists

Mehmoodabad (Bandipora), May 6: Thousands of people on Friday turned up to felicitate 17 Muftis who completed their degrees in Valley’s largest Madrassah- Dar-ul-uloom Raheemiyyah in North Kashmir’s Bandipora town.
The seminary produces 7 Aalim (Scholars), 12 Hufaaz and 14 Qaris this year who were felicitated during the annual convocation.
Mufti is a legal expert who is empowered to give rulings on religious matters in Islam, Qari is one who recites the Qur’an according to the Tajwid, or proper rules of recitation and Hafiz is a Muslim memorizes the Quran by heart.
Thousands of people from various places of Bandipora and other parts of valley assembled in the lawns of Dar-ul-uloom Rahimya to felicitate the Muftis.
The Muftis were honored by tying white turbans round their heads. Tying white turban in Muslims is seen as a token of honor and respect. Head Mufti of the seminary Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi said the aim of convocation is make people aware about their performance. People have always been there with a helping hand and today we put forward the fruits of that help before the people.
Rector Dar-ul-uloom Deoband Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani on Friday urged Muslims to truly follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammad with the special focus on moral ethics in toto for peace, development and prosperity in the world.
Addressing a mammoth gathering of people during the the convocation organized by Dar-ul-uloom Rahimiyah here on concluding ceremony of three-day Jurisprudence conference, Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani that entire life of holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is a complete code of life and beacon of guidance.
Nomani said the holy Prophet‚ who is a blessing for the whole universe‚ as he always gave the inclusive multifaceted message to the whole world. Rector Darulullum Deoband Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani Banarsi was the Chief Guest on the occasion who chaired the proceedings of the conference.
Speaking at the conference Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani said “Prophet Muhammad is a source of guidance and blessings for the entire humanity and the Muslims can get rid of decadence by following his footsteps.
He said happiness and success could not be obtained by amassing wealth and luxuries of life but by following true principles and ethics.
Prophet Muhammad is the final Prophet and Messenger who arrived with the complete message for whole humanity,Nomani said.
“Desires drive a man madly and put him on the way to disaster and only by adhering to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) one could become successful in his worldly life and the hereafter, Nomani said.
President Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Moulana Abdullah Maroofi while addressing the conference said that the Prophetic teachings if followed in toto can lead the way for peace, prosperity and development.
Maroofi urged Muslims to find out the solution of the prevailing problems in the light of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He said that at the dent of his Seerat-e-Tayyaba‚ Prophet Muhammad (SAW) promoted harmony among people. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has urged people not to say harsh words or passed negative comments even for enemies.
Mufti Nazir Qasmi Head of Darul Ullum in his emotional speech cautioned people to indulge in inappropriate and unethical ways of life.
Expressing his concern over the misuse of human welfare profession by doctors and teachers, Mufti Nazir said that doctors and teachers should avoid amassing wealth while indulging in private practices and tuition which is proving hard for commoners.
He said that the people are preferring nudism, fashion and other unethical and immoral ways of life in modern day society which can be counterproductive for both worldly and religious affairs.
He said that all the social and religious should awaken their conscience and come out of fear to work for dignity and honor of Ummah.
Mufti Nazir urged the Muslims to stand united to face the challenges they are confronting. He appealed to keep an eye on their surroundings and maintain unity in their rank, saying unity was the force that would deter all types of evil elements amid at harming Muslims directly or indirectly.
Moulana Muizudin Qasmi Head Amarat-i-Shariah said that the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the only way for a better life in this world and hereafter and urged to follow his teachings of tolerance, understanding, and respect for humanity.
He said the entire life of the Holy Prophet is a beacon and worthy of emulation by all as his personality is characterized by attributes of sympathy, generosity, bravery, mercifulness, and hospitality.
Emphasizing on human dignity, brotherhood, and indiscriminate welfare, Qasmi said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a perfect and practical interpretation of the Holy Quran.
He said that Islam presents an excellent code of life as it is founded on the principles of Sovereignty of Allah Almighty, brotherhood, equality, and respect for humanity.
The proceedings of the conference were moderated by Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi who later presented vote of thanks to all the guests and people who grace the occasion.
Later certificates were distributed among the students of the varsity who completed their degrees from various learning centers
