BMC intensifies Market checking

Bandipora, May 04:After receiving complaints that the traders and vendors are selling products on roads and shopkeepers and displaying
goods on pavements causing difficulties for pedestrians to walk, BMC on Tuesday launched anti-encroachment drive in Bandipora market.

The market checking squad was formed on the directions of District Development Commissioner Bandipora. During market checking fine was realised from the erring traders of various markets of the town. The checking squad headed by Executive Officer Municipal Committee
Bandipora Gh Rasool Shah destroyed one quintal of rotten vegetables during the inspection. The squad collected fine from those shopkeepers who were found involved in various violations of laws in the market besides encroaching footpaths.

The team during the checking found some retail shopkeepers, vegetable vendors involved in illegal hoarding and profiteering.

The Executive Officer Municipal Committee Bandipora Gh Rasool Shah reiterated that the drive will continue with full vigour and force and
had warned the involved hoarders and illegal profiteers to refrain from such exercises forthwith otherwise are ready to face strict punishment under law including closing of their units.
